
The University of the Third Age is an
international organisation. Meon
Valley U3A membership requires no educational qualifications, just an interest
in life long learning and enjoying leisure in retirement.
Dr. Denis May of Soberton Heath, the founder Chairman, first came across U3A
in France, liked what he saw and brought the idea home with
him. Sixteen "academic" years have now passed since the
Group was set up. Membership, currently about 50, is drawn
from the
Meetings. Each year has a theme to act as a
study focus. Group meetings are held twice monthly at

there are two Reading Groups which meet monthly in members' homes to
discuss a book of their own choice.
A Creative Writing Group, for which there is a fee, was first set
up in 2003. For
