The Shedfield Society

Purpose. The Shedfield Society is established for the public benefit, for the following purposes in the area comprising the village of Shedfield:

  • To promote high standards of planning and architecture in or affecting the area of benefit.
  • To educate the public in geography, history, natural history and architecture in the area of benefit.
  • To secure the preservation protection and development and improvement of features of historic or public interest in the area of benefit. .

Membership. Membership shall be open to all who are interested in actively furthering the purposes of the Society. Subscriptions are £5 per annum for individual members and £4 each for members in the same household.

Meetings. There are no set regular meetings except that the AGM is held in September/October of each year. There is a programme of events which take place at various venues.

 

Saturday 12th June – Annual Parish Footpath Walk

 

 

This year our walk includes a small section of the Roman Road which linked Portchester to Winchester. Meet outside the Reading Room at 6.30 pm (or by Heatherdene, Turkey Island at 6.40 pm). Displays of tithe maps etc and refreshments available until 9.30 pm

Tickets: Shedfield Society members £5, Non members £7 (available on the door.)
