The Meon Valley Scout District covers the Towns and Villages of Bishop's Waltham, Botley, Curdridge, Droxford, Durley, Exton, Meonstoke, Shedfield, Shirrell Heath, Soberton, Swanmore, Upham, Warnford and Wickham, and has a membership of almost 400.
There is a permanent camp site / training facility, including halls and accommodation, at Lyons Copse, Shedfield. For details see Solent Scout Training Centre.
The district is supported by an invaluable force of Parents and Helpers whose sole aim is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of the local, national and international communities. By providing an enjoyable scheme of progressive training guided by adult leadership.
Scouting offers a structured, activity based training programme for boys and girls between 6-20 years of age, guided by adult leadership. Each scout group is self-governing within the national organisation.
Help is always welcome at our Groups and helpers must first complete simple formalities as part of our standard procedures.
